The Future of Swift at a Glance

Swift has been a pivotal transition for our refined fuel customers, and we are deeply grateful to our customers, internal and external teams, and all who have contributed to its success. Your role in this journey is invaluable, and we look forward to the ways we continue to serve our customers together.

Below is a quick interview with Swift's team manager, Luke Bell, to gain insight into where Swift started, became, and is heading.

Getting to Know Luke Bell of Commercial Technology

1. What is your role on the Customer Technology team?

My role on the team is to lead the development and strategic direction of Swift and our other strategic initiatives within the refined fuels Commercial Technology team so that we meet the needs of our customers and align with our business objectives.

2. What made you initially believe in Swift as a product that needed to be developed and what problem does it solve?

We initially believed in Swift as a product that needed to be developed because we saw a gap in the market for a comprehensive and user-friendly solution for conducting business with a refined fuels service provider. Swift solves the problem of being mobile and intuitive by moving away from older technology and lengthy training requirements.

3. What should customers understand as they use the software and bugs are fixed while new features are launched?

Launching a new digital customer solution comes with its ups and downs. While there may be initial challenges with adoption and implementation, the overall trajectory is a net positive for customers because Swift allows us to make faster more meaningful changes from newer technology. These benefits ultimately lead to positive outcomes for customers, such as increased efficiency, cost savings, etc.

4.What are you most looking forward to releasing in the next year?

As a leader on the team developing this product, I am most looking forward to the coming months/year of feature releases because we have some exciting enhancements planned that will further improve the user experience and add even more value for our customers. Some of these features include deeper customer insights of their business with us so that they can make the best decisions for their business needs.

5. How does Swift change the experience for employees and why does it make sense to buy in?

While much of our focus has been on high-level content for decision makers, Swift also changes the experience of employees and every day job responsibilities.  Employees should buy in because Swift makes their jobs easier, more efficient, and ultimately more rewarding.

6. With Magellan being acquired, as a customer, should I expect any changes coming to the software?

With Magellan being acquired by ONEOK, you can expect some changes in the experience of Swift as a result. Some examples could include branding colors, etc. We are working together to ensure a smooth transition and to further enhance the Swift platform.
